Description
This kit is Honduran Mahogany , bent , trimmed and contoured to the Martin OM shape. The top is red spruce. The braces are 1/4 in scallop. The neck is Mahogany and in this case has the valoute. Also a 2 way adjustable truss rod . The brace locations are plotted on the top and back for you.
I scored some old martin dark brown tortoise binding. There are 4 pieces as you must join it at the tail piece but this is the real old stock from Martin.
The top and back are thicknessed and top has the rosette installed. The braces are pre war style.
tuners are Grover open backed butterbean, The fretboard on this is east indian rosewood , slotted and radiused. I included the squares and diamond. The inlay is not installed and you use 2 squares on 5 and 9 with the diamond on 7 . They used this pattern early in the production of the OM.
The nut width is 1 3/4 in 2 1/4 at the 12th and bridge and you have a nice pyramid bridge on this kit to match the fret board. All parts are included. Bone nut and saddle and the pins are ebony with a paua dot.
