Description
I picked up this Honduran Mahogany plank from my regular providers , and it was found in a lake. I can’t verify that it is sinker but there is water stains.
I used Martin neck and fretboard so this is martin 24.9 scale length
Back and sides Honduran Mahogany , bent, trimmed and contoured to the L00 . The top and back are thinned and have the braces plotted for you. The neck is mahogany 1 3/4 nut width and 2 1/4 at the bridge. The fret board and bridge are ebony and there is a bone nut and saddle. All parts are included.
The neck is 14 fret , and dove tailed. The side supports are ribbon , on the 1930 L00 it appears Gibson uses about a 2 in wide gauze. The braces on this are light and tiny compared to Martin. The body is 4 1/2 at the tail and about 3 1/2 at the neck.
The binding is a white ivroid. The pick guard is the fire stripe. Bone pins are also included. The dots are MOP and are installed.
These old L00;s were stained very dark and if you do stain this , the water marks will hide under the stain. Top is red spruce the braces are sitka
