Description
here is a kit made from a piece of old mahogany. The whole guitar is mahogany top, back, and sides. The sides are bent, trimmed and contoured to a 0-14 fret body. The top back and sides are all from the same lumber. They are 14 fret. I had rosette the top with herringbone. I also have the 1/4 in red spruce braces shaped and scalloped. The back braces are old style with the wider and lower back braces.
the back is also thinned and all brace locations plotted on both the top and back. The sides have the ribbon support and you install that before the kerfed lining. The neck joint is dovetail. The neck is 1 3/4 nut and 2 1/4 spacing at the bridge. No inlay on the fretboard. The fretboard and bridge are ebony. Bone nut and saddle blanks are include. All parts are included down to the string. Bone pins as well.
Fret board is radius and slotted. The head stock veneer is on as this is an actual CF Martin neck from the old GMC days. The binding is tortoise and I included herringbone purfling for the top. This is special that I get custom made that is thinned than the modern herringbone plus it is flexible and no need to bend before installation.
Grover open back butter bean tuners included as these are do well made and durable.
as always you may ask questions and we do support what we sell. We still answer phones and emails.
